Celebrate National Poetry Month at the Les Malamut Art Gallery. Back by popular demand after last year’s success, this poetry event is part of an ongoing series of events taking place inside the gallery. Enjoy readings by 7 local poets and view the current exhibit “Recent Works” group show by the members of The Contemporary Art Group.

 

Evening’s featured poets:

 

Mark Brunetti - Editor of The Idiom Magazine  which recently won the London Book Festival.

 

Deborah LaVeglia - is well known as the director of the PoetsWednesday Poetry Series, Barron Arts Center. She has been published in numerous poetry journals including the Paterson Literary Review, American Poetry Journal, Exit 13, and the Edison Literary Review and has published a chapbook, The Vigil.

 

Joy Ann Lara (writing as JJG Cabanos) - A visual artist and poet whose poems were

featured in Exit 13 Magazine.

 

Tom Plante - Editor of Exit 13 Magazine, an annual journal of poetry that he publishes in Fanwood, New Jersey. Tom is also a co-director of the Fanwood Arts Council.

 

Laurie Sansone - has exhibited her photographs, paintings and sculptures throughout New 

Jersey, California and Cape Cod and has written many poems, short stories and travel journals.

She is director of the Union Library, and a member of the Malamut Art Gallery Board.

 

Leona M Seufert - artist and poet, her works have appeared in numerous e-zines and on websites. Recently published a chapbook on the fun of commuting, From Here To There and Back Again – A Commuter’s Journey.

 

Barbara Wirkus - Her poems have been published in various poetry magazines, including Exit 13, Poet Magazine, Albatross Literary Magazine, as well as a chapbook, Poems for Unpretentious People.
